The
tight spaces and flawless use of space in this
vehicle's design prestent quite a challenge for
high performance audio equipment, but our masterful
technician Andrew Stasinos was not swayed by this
at all. He built a new dash trim bezel to flush
the Alpine CDA-9851 head unit into the old factory
double DIN location. This required hours of work
to sand, fill, prime, sand some more, and then
finally paint and finish the piece. The front
doors received a fair helping of Dynamat Extreme
to dampen the resonance, and behind each speaker
a piece of Dynamat DynaXorb was placed to stop
backwave defraction. The speakers used were JL
Audio XR650CSI components. To drive these speakers,
the system designer Cory M. Nani had a JL Audio
300/2 2 channel amplifier. This combination ensured
smooth, accurate sound reproduction and plenty
of volume when it was needed
